The “Age of Reason” and the radical political theories that emerged from Enlightenment philosophy fostered a wave of revolutions that shook the world between 1760 and 1825, ushering the modern age. But these revolutions were also marked by popular violence, emotions, and irrationality. Profs. Cristina Cammarano (Philosophy) and Céline Carayon (History) shed light on this complex and formative era.
