The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Youth Orchestra

Welcome to the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Youth Orchestra

The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Youth Orchestra has provided unique educational and performance opportunities for young musicians since 1989. Currently made up of members ranging in age from 8th to 12th grade, the group is a full orchestra including strings, winds, brass, and percussion. The experience of playing in a full orchestra is not offered in area schools. The conductor is Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen, a Professor of Music at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and the Artistic Director of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Symphony Orchestra. SYO is supported by SU which provides rehearsal and concert space and is also supported by a Parent’s Organization as well as by local teachers and volunteers. The group has weekly rehearsals and performs two concerts a year. For further information please contact Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen at jgschoyen@salisbury.edu.

For information about individual and group music lessons offered by the preparatory program at SU, see PRESTO.
