¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥

SALISBURY, MD---“Asian Medicine: Acupuncture, Reflexology and Chinese Herbs” is the title of a lecture by Dr. Eleanor L. Stump on Thursday, November 1, at 7 p.m. in the Guerrieri University Center Wicomico Room at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥.  Admission is free and the public is cordially invited. 

Stump, a graduate of SU (’70) and a resident of Delmar, DE, is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and Acupuncture.  In 1984, she became the first woman appointed to the Delaware State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  There she served as secretary for two years and was re-appointed to the board from 1985-1987.  She is the president of the Delmarva Health Center and is a yoga instructor at the Oriental Studies Institute and Peninsula Regional Medical Center.  From 1994-1997, she served on the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Association Board.

Dr. Stump was awarded Chiropractor of the Year in 1985 and became the first American woman blackbelt in Shorinji Kempo in 1973.  Her speaking engagements include the Yoga Seminar for Multiple Sclerosis in Philadelphia in November 1998, the seventh annual Women’s Symposium in Ocean City in March 1999, the Total Woman Symposium at the Worcester County Commission for Women in October 1999, and An Introduction to Complementary Medicine at the Mallard Landing Retirement Community in November 1999. 

Stump’s publications include, “Acupuncture Practice and the Transmission of Hepatitis,” ACA Journal of Chiropractic, October 1997, and the article “Canines Get Chiropractic,” which she authored along with Drs. John Stump and David Sniezek.
